Meet Miss Auvergne: The Animal Osteopath
Among the contestants, some have already captured attention, such as Moïra André, who was crowned Miss Guadeloupe on September 15. Recently, the spotlight has turned to Romane Agostinho, the current Miss Auvergne 2024, due to her unique professional background. This 27-year-old from Beaumont is an animal osteopath, a field she is keen to promote. In an interview with Télé Loisirs, she shared insights into her eight years of study in this specialized area. ‘Many people, like me, were unaware of this profession. Initially, I aimed to become a veterinarian, but I was less drawn to the more challenging aspects of that career, such as euthanasia. I wanted a role focused on alternative care, where I work with healthy animals whose owners seek to enhance their well-being. This approach is truly different,’ she explained. Through her participation in the competition, she hopes to raise awareness about her profession and has had the opportunity to work with remarkable animals like eagles and owls, showcasing the rigor required in her field.
Romane Agostinho: A Second Chance in 2024
Romane Agostinho is no stranger to competition; she previously participated in 2022, finishing as the First Runner-up to Alissia Ladevèze. ‘If you’re not at their level, they won’t let you do it!’, she noted, highlighting the high standards of the competition. She described her daily practices, saying, ‘I place my hands on the animal and let their body guide me to the points of tension. When I identify a blockage, the animal uses my touch to release it, resulting in relief.’ If selected among the five regional Misses, she will have the opportunity to elaborate on her work during the event at the Futuroscope Arena (Vienne) on December 14.
Reflecting on her journey, Romane candidly shared her thoughts on her candidacy: ‘I tried again because it’s a significant life choice. I found myself at a crossroads with many options. Ultimately, I followed my heart, thinking about the potential regret of not participating. Everything has fallen into place, and I have no regrets about not winning two years ago; it’s as if everything is just right now.’ Today, she exudes confidence as she prepares for the upcoming event.
