Excitement Builds for Miss France 2025
Anticipation is in the air at the Miss France Committee as preparations for the upcoming election heat up! In just a few weeks, a new beauty queen will be crowned, succeeding Eve Gilles. The Miss France 2025 ceremony will take place in December, continuing the cherished tradition of hosting the event in the winner’s home region, this year located in the Hauts-de-France area. While details remain scarce, it’s expected to be broadcast on TF1, with the beloved Jean-Pierre Foucault returning as host, a role he has held since the 1990s. As the event approaches, names of the contestants are starting to surface, adding to the excitement.
Meet the Contestants on the Rise
So far, we have glimpses of several contestants, including Miss Mayotte, Zaya Toumbou; Miss Réunion, Marie Futol; Miss Roussillon, Cassiopée Rimbaud; and Miss Provence, Mégane Bertaud. Recently, two more remarkable individuals joined the ranks: Miss Auvergne and Miss Midi-Pyrénées. Their election took place on September 7 in Villemur-sur-Tarn, with sixteen talented women vying for the title. The competition was fierce, leading regional delegate Karine Dariès to remark, “This year, we have no idea who will win; we have a golden promotion.” In the end, Olivia Sirena, hailing from Balma, was crowned Miss Midi-Pyrénées 2024 by Eve Gilles herself.
At just 23 years old, Olivia has recently completed her business degree and is now ready to embrace her new role. She reflects on her plans, stating, “I had planned to take a gap year; it will ultimately be a year of Miss.” A basketball enthusiast, Olivia has been passionate about the sport since childhood and dreams of exploring the world. She recalls the moment she was announced as a contestant, sharing, “When my number was announced, I wondered if it was really me.” Olivia hopes to inspire others as she embarks on this journey, emphasizing the importance of authenticity and connection with people.
Taking over from Nadine Benaboud, Olivia aims to bring glory back to her region, as the last representative from Midi-Pyrénées to win the title was Chloé Mortaud in 2009. With other regional ceremonies lined up, including Miss Martinique and Miss Guadeloupe on September 14 and 15, and the final contestant, Miss Picardie, being revealed on October 20, the excitement is palpable. However, it’s noteworthy that there will be no Miss New Caledonia this year, due to current political challenges.
