Panthers win 7-1
Sam Bennett recorded his second hat trick of the campaign and the Florida Panthers crushed the Dallas Stars 7-1 on Friday night.
Bennett also had three goals in his second game this season, Oct. 16 against the New York Islanders. He also added a helper.
Jonathan Huberdeau had a goal and three assists to bring his total points to 51 this season. Anthony Duclair had a goal and two assists while Gustav Forsling and Carter Verhaeghe scored once each.
Brandon Montour has been involved in two goals for the Panthers, who are 7-0-1 since the Christmas break and are 19-3-0 at home this season. Sergei Bobrovsky made 28 saves.
Jake Oettinger allowed four goals on 17 shots and was replaced in the second period by Anton Khudobin. The latter concluded the meeting with 19 saves for the Stars.
Roope Hintz was the only player from the Texas squad to flash the red light.
The Wild beat the Ducks easily
Matt Boldy and Mats Zuccarello scored within four seconds of the third period and the Minnesota Wild defeated the Anaheim Ducks 7-3 on Friday night.
Zuccarello finished with two goals and an assist. Boldy, Kevin Fiala, Victor Rask, Matt Dumba and Ryan Hartman all hit the mark for the Wild. Kirill Kaprizov had two assists.
Kaapo Kahkonen stopped 39 shots for the Wild, which won for the 10th straight time against the Ducks — the longest streak in Wild history against an opponent.
Maxime Comtois, Derek Grant and Trevor Zegras scored for the Ducks.
Anthony Stolarz allowed six goals on 29 shots for the Ducks before being pulled early in the third period. Lukáš Dostál stopped 12 of 13 shots in relief.
