COVID-19: Quebec reports 68 new deaths and an increase of 91 hospitalizations

MONTREAL – Quebec reported 68 new deaths on Friday, as hospitalizations rose by 91.

There are now 3,085 hospitalizations, including 275 in intensive care, an increase of three.

In addition, 7,382 new cases have been reported, a number that is not representative of the situation, however, since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.

The province’s toll now stands at 783,102 infections and 12,193 deaths.

A total of 42,733 analyzes were carried out on Thursday, and Quebec has a positivity rate of 15.9%.

In terms of vaccination, 108,768 doses have been administered in the last 24 hours. A total of 4006 first doses were injected, as well as 101,391 third doses.

According to the National Institute of Public Health, 85% of the population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Among those aged 12 and over, 92% have received at least one dose and 89.7% are adequately vaccinated.
