Bowling Achievements in the Bundesliga
LEOBEN. The seventh round of the autumn season in the Austrian 1st Bundesliga East showcased a thrilling match between ESV Leoben and KV Kronlachner Wr. Neustadt. After a competitive showdown, the game concluded in a 4:4 tie. Gerhard Plank stood out with an impressive score of 623 pins, earning the title of the best player for both his team and the day.
On Saturday, November 9, ESV Leoben will face a new challenge as they head to an away game against GSZ Graz. With determination and fresh energy, the team aims to secure additional points and continue their successful journey.
In the sixth round of the men’s Bundesliga East, ESV Leoben met SKK Loisdorf at home, delivering a commanding performance with an 8:0 victory. Armin Stocker led the team as the standout player of the day with 612 pins. Currently, ESV Leoben ranks second in the league, just one point behind KSK Klagenfurt – Magdalensberg. Their next match is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, at 1 PM against KV Kronlacher Wr. Neustadt.

EISENERZ/SLOVENIA. Anna Brandner, a talented 14-year-old athlete from SC Erzberland in Eisenerz, excelled at the FESA Games 2024 in Velenje, Slovenia. Competing in the Nordic combined events, she secured third place in the individual competition and contributed to Austria’s third-place finish in the team event alongside Sarah Lexer and Lena Golmitzer.
Brandner’s remarkable achievements include a silver medal in individual special jumping and a gold medal in the team event with partners Amy Dögl and Cordula Resch. She also set a new hill record of 74.5 meters, playing a significant role in Austria’s victory in the ‘Youth I’ category at the FESA Games 2024.
TROFAIACH. At the recent Austrian Athletics Championships for Masters in Amstetten, Sabina Plammer from Trofaiach made headlines by setting multiple Austrian and Styrian records in various throwing disciplines. Following her world champion title in hammer throw in the W 70 class, she excelled by winning gold in hammer throw, shot put, discus throw, and javelin throw at the championships.
LEOBEN. The season finale at Tennis Schager ended on a high note with a festive closing ceremony. Markus Wasmayer, Daniel Tertinek, Matteo Bernhardt, Martin Beikircher, and Ulf Zirbisegger celebrated their club championships and qualified for the Leoben city championships next May. The event featured wonderful weather and thrilling rallies, culminating in the mixed doubles competition.
David Fellner from Leoben participated in the sixth stop of the Bikement Austrian Pumptrack Series in Linz after a lengthy summer break. Although he finished fifth with a time of 11.558 seconds, he remains focused on his overall ranking, currently leading with 114 points, ahead of Julian Mayr and Samuel Handolescu.
