The increase in electricity tariffs will not exceed 4% this year. This is the government’s commitment as global energy prices soar. Eco guest of franceinfo on Friday January 14, Naïma Idir, the president of Anode, which represents EDF’s competitors, affirms that these private suppliers will respect this rule for all their tariffs indexed on regulated tariffs, but she announces a “postponement to 2023“.
Naïma Idir affirms it: “For all our offers which will be indexed to these rates [réglementés] we can’t do more [que 4%] since the rates will be frozen“. But for those who have chosen another pricing, everything will depend: “Customers can choose, for example, a fixed price offer, over a much longer period than 2022“.
In the Parisian, the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire assures that there is “will be no catch-up leading to a further rise next year. The State and EDF will bear the cost of this measure“. The State notably requires EDF to sell its competitors even more electricity at a reduced price.
But for Naïma Idir, “there will be a postponement to 2023“, because “the sum of the measures does not make it possible to erase all of the additional cost“. The president of Anode nevertheless imagines a solution: “Will the government make announcements to prevent another hike in 2023?“
