The ‘Blue Panther – TV & Streaming Award’ ceremony occurred on Wednesday evening in Munich, marking a revamped direction for this accolade, previously known as the ‘Bavarian Television Award.’ Hosted by versatile presenter Steven Gätjen and cabaret artist Eva Karl Faltermeier, the event took place at BMW Welt. Among the winners revealed in advance were model and television personality Heidi Klum and cabaret performer Dieter Nuhr, both recognized for their contributions in various categories, with Nuhr receiving an honorary award from Bavarian Minister President Markus Söder.

Standout Awards for ‘Maxton Hall’ and ‘New Stories from Pumuckl’

The Prime Video series ‘Maxton Hall – The World Between Us’ unexpectedly earned the Blue Panther for ‘Best Series’ in the Fiction category, leaving critics’ favorite ‘The Doubters’ without recognition. Actor Aaron Altaras claimed the award for ‘Best Actor,’ while Katharina Stark from the Disney+ show ‘Deutsches Haus’ was recognized as ‘Best Actress.’

‘Maxton Hall’ not only excelled in acting categories but also received accolades for its writing, with Daphne Ferraro honored as Head Writer. Additionally, the RTL+ series ‘Neue Geschichten vom Pumuckl’ picked up two awards – one for the production company NEUESUPER and another for its director, Marcus H. Rosenmüller.

Dieter Nuhr Receives Honorary Award

Honorary award winner Dieter Nuhr was celebrated in Munich, with Bavarian Minister President Markus Söder expressing his admiration on stage. The award’s explanation highlighted Nuhr’s exceptional blend of incisive humor and social commentary, dubbing him a master of ‘cabaret deluxe.’

In the ‘Information / Journalism’ category, two awards were conferred: Sophie von der Tann was recognized for her impactful reporting from the Middle East, while Andreas Pichler was honored for his gripping documentary ‘Dangerously Close – When Bears Kill.’

In a notable moment, satirist Jan Böhmermann received recognition in the Entertainment category for his hosting role on the show ‘Lass Dich überwachen!’, though he was unable to attend the ceremony to accept his award.
