In a recent interview, Zucker shared insights about his love for live performances and how he navigates the dynamic between pop and rock music.

How do the live tracks on your new album ‘Heute nicht! Tour Edition’ compare to the original versions?

Ben Zucker: The live tracks are often rearranged to enhance the experience for my fans. I incorporate sections for audience participation, giving the songs a rockier feel with more pronounced instrumental elements. It’s a creative and free process, while ensuring each song stays true to what my fans cherish.

Which live moments from your concerts have left a lasting impression on you?

Zucker: Each concert is filled with countless emotional moments. A standout for me was when I welcomed Bonnie Tyler to sing at my finale concert in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in 2019—an unforgettable experience.

As your arena tour kicks off from mid-October to the end of November, do you find yourself missing anything when you’re away from the stage for a while?

Zucker: The stage feels like home to me, alongside my personal retreat. When I’m not performing, I genuinely miss being with my fans the most.

Your new single ‘Da vorn ist noch Licht’ exudes strength and positivity. Where does your confidence come from, and how do you feel about the upcoming year?

Zucker: Optimism is fundamental to my outlook on life. I always aim to be forward-thinking and excited about what’s ahead. While we have ambitious plans for next year, my focus right now is on the upcoming tour.

Having started with rock music, you’re now recognized as a pop-rock artist. Is balancing these genres challenging for you?

Zucker: Not at all; it’s quite natural for me. Ultimately, music is about evoking emotions, and if I can touch people’s hearts, I consider it a success, irrespective of genre.

Could you see yourself performing at the Wacken Open Air festival someday?

Zucker: I honestly have my doubts. It would require careful consideration in terms of concept. I hold great respect for the metal community and understand that fitting in isn’t simply about having a rock sound.

What music are you currently enjoying in your personal time?

Zucker: My tastes are always shifting. Right now, I’m listening to a mix ranging from Wanda and John Mayer to Silverchair and Juliane Werding.
