The Islamic State terrorist organization was the target this week of a US military operation against several camps in Syria. Strikes which come at a time when two Afghan brothers with plans to attack were arrested, one of whom was in France.

Supported by the RAID, the police intervened on Tuesday, October 8, in the heart of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) to arrest two men, then a third a few minutes later in a neighboring town. After several hours in police custody, two of them were released, the third was indicted. He is a 22-year-old Afghan who is committed to the ideology of the Islamic State. According to the anti-terrorism prosecution, he was planning violent action in a stadium or a shopping center.

If the man was able to be arrested in Toulouse, it was partly thanks to information given by the American services, who had just arrested his big brother a few days earlier in Oklahoma (United States). He was in the process of obtaining weapons and planning to attack a polling station on the day of the American elections according to the FBI, which followed his exchanges on encrypted messaging. The suspect imprisoned in France denies, according to his lawyer, any plans for a terrorist attack.
