It all started, they say, with bad associations at the Evreux prison where they were then imprisoned for thefts, in particular. According to their statements, they would have been forced to take action, they would only be intermediaries, without ever giving the identity of the sponsors.

Each car brought them between 500 and 2000 euros

As soon as they are free, one thing is certain, they are not long in diving again, according to the same modus operandi: most of the time, they were given the address of the cars to be stolen in Calvados and Eure. Vehicles that were transported within two hours to Sotteville les Rouen where the plates were changed before the cars disappeared. What became of them? Here too, it is difficult to know more. They take between 500 and 2000 euros per stolen car. In a few months, it earns them between 7,000 and 10,000 euros for one, between 10,000 and 15,000 euros for the other.

The two men respond but do not show any affect, which the defense lawyers point out to them: “You had no word for the victims. What if one of them had gotten up in the night and come face to face with you?” No answer, the two defendants are satisfied in the end with timid excuses without really convincing. One of them just admits during the hearing that he is going to be a dad in the days to come but, with his mistakes, he will not be able to attend the birth of his child.

Each of the defendants, found guilty, is therefore sentenced to three and a half years in prison, to which must be added revocations of suspended sentences of 2 for one and 3 months for the other, the two men having already been sentenced several times. A third man was given a 3-month suspended prison sentence for concealment.
