Montreal | Victims of jewelry thieves sought

Montreal police are looking for victims of two jewelry thieves who targeted elderly people in the greater metropolitan area before their arrest last week.

Madalina Paun, 30 years old, and Costel Miclescu, 36 years old, were arrested on 1er October in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce district, when they were on the verge of causing new victims.

According to the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM), the duo was traveling in different rental vehicles before approaching their victims, while they were in the street or sitting on their balcony. Miclescu remained in the vehicle while Paun asked them for directions or made up excuses to enter their home.

“Once inside, Ms. Paun subtly stole jewelry that the elderly people were wearing, searched their homes and gave them fake jewelry. The two suspects were often accompanied by young children during the crimes,” specifies the SPVM in a press release.

Madalina Paun, a white-skinned woman, is 1.56 m tall and weighs 77 kilos. She has brown eyes and brown hair. Costel Miclescu, for his part, has white skin, is 1.75 m tall and weighs 100 kilos. He has black eyes and black hair.
