A man died at sea, in Sète, in Hérault, Wednesday October 9. Another man, who found himself trapped under the hull of his boat, testifies.

In Marseillan (Hérault), a fishing instructor is a miracle. Wednesday October 9, near the port, his boat overturned, in the middle of waves several meters high. He finds himself stuck under the hull. “I saw myself leaving, I couldn’t get out (…) I pulled, I tore off my jacket and I came back up,” testifies Ludovic Arnal, fishing guide instructor. He and his two clients are in the water and struggling to get to shore. “Each time, I had waves that took me, that shook me”confides Sébastien Bruno, resident of Mèze (Hérault).

They emerge unscathed from this raging sea on the coast of Hérault. On Wednesday, even the SNSM rescuers seemed impressed by the power of the swell. In all, three boats capsized. A 63-year-old man died at sea. “They could have come back sooner. He said they were just taking a quick walk and coming back.”regrets Laurence Nicaud, friend of the victim, still in shock. The victim’s brother was also on the boat. He was rescued, then hospitalized. The harbor master saw everything, but could do nothing.
