In Sète, in Hérault, two men were shipwrecked in the middle of a storm, on the evening of Wednesday October 9. One of them, a 63-year-old boater, died. His brother survived. Potential victims are still being sought.

Emotions were high on Thursday October 10 in the morning at the port of Sète (Hérault). A 63-year-old boater died at sea. His boat overturned. Her friend also lived on a sailboat right next door: “They could have come home earlier.”testifies the latter, in tears. After “half past five […] It was impossible to return.”she laments.

The victim’s brother was also on the boat, which was put back at the dock. He was rescued and is still in hospital. The consequence of raging seas the previous evening on the Hérault coast. “We saw two black spots that flowed and then came back up”remembers Gilles Soria, port master in Sète who came to the aid of the two men, who mentions “4 meter waves”.

In total, three boats overturned Wednesday evening in Sète. A search system was deployed after the discovery of a stranded ship, without passengers.
