The alliance between the presidential camp and the right is breaking up. On the eve of the budget proposal on Wednesday October 9, Gabriel Attal’s statements do not seem to go in Matignon’s direction.

On the eve of the presentation of the budget, Gabriel Attal came to launch his counter-offensive with proposals far removed from those of the Prime Minister. “The budget that seems to be taking shape does not include enough reforms and too many taxes with the risk of destabilizing industries and the middle classe” indicated former Prime Minister Gabriel Attal in a press conference on October 9.

For several days, the alliance between the presidential camp and the Republicans seems to be crumbling. The latest episode, the presidency of the economic affairs committee at the national assembly. The standoff between the two allowed France Insoumise to recover this coveted position despite an agreement reached this summer. Michel Barnier admitted his concern about a “solidarity which was not there”. For his part, Gabriel Attal denounced “a disastrous project of the right”. The budget which will be proposed on Thursday October 10 provides for 40 billion in savings and 20 billion euros in tax increases.
