Teacher slapped by a student: “The fight to be fought is the fight against political Islam”, says Sébastien Chenu, RN deputy

Sébastien Chenu, RN deputy from the North, was the guest of France 2’s “4 Truths” on Wednesday.

In Tourcoing (North), on Tuesday, a teacher was slapped by a student whom she asked to remove her veil. The high school student was placed in police custody and the Minister of Education called for firm sanctions. A reaction which is not up to par, according to Sébastien Chenu, RN deputy from the North. “This attack on secularism, this aggression, following the desire to impose the veil, says a lot of things. Behind it, there is obviously an Islamist provocation. The claimed Islamic veil, imposed in the school as it “was by this student, it’s a provocation”comments the elected official, on the set of “4 Vérités” on Wednesday October 9.

For him, Anne Genetet’s reaction is not up to par. “The fight to be waged is the fight against political Islam and she has already given up by refraining from imposing a moment of silence or dialogue following the attacks of October 7. You may remember- be that she indicated that there would be this moment of memory, of dialogue or of silence and then she backtracked”he continues.
