This is a great first in Europe. In Bourges, in Cher, the Monin company, famous for its syrups with multiple flavors, has just commissioned the first water reuse unit based on the principle of filtration, reports France Bleu Berry. An innovative installation, the result of five years of work, which consists of recycling purified water using “good old filtration process thanks to high-performance membranes”all without the use of microorganisms, explains France Bleu Berry.

The Monin company thus hopes to divide its water consumption by three per year, i.e. a target of 20,000 cubic meters per year. The recycled water will be “mostly reused for cleaning installations […]. This water will not be used to fill our syrup bottles, this is not on the agenda, even if its quality would allow it to be done.”welcomes Ludovic Lanouguère, project manager.

Thanks to its innovative side, the four million euro installation was 50% financed by Europe. A new system which could serve as an example in France and Europe according to Olivier Monin, president of the group: “We are marking a great first and major international groups intend to draw inspiration from the example of Petit Pout Berry. We have already received a visit from Nestlé and even LVMH, we are very proud of that.”
