A woman who allegedly doused a child with boiling water appears in Longueuil

A woman who allegedly threw boiling water on a 10-year-old child who allegedly walked on her property in Longueuil last week was arrested by police.

The child would have crossed the land surrounding his residence with friends. She then allegedly threw boiling water on him.

The Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL) was called the same day, October 2, and arrested the woman in her forties. She was later released on a promise to appear in court at a later date. Conditions for his release were imposed on him, including not communicating with the child.

He suffered burns to his face and body. He was transported to hospital the same day, but his life is not in danger, said Longueuil police spokesperson Mélanie Mercille. In photos sent to TVA Nouvelles, we see that the toddler has lost flaps of skin and that the entire right side of his face has been affected.

The police investigation continues to determine all the circumstances of the case, said Mr.me Mercille. The woman is due in court at the end of January and could face charges of assault causing bodily harm.

The SPAL deployed its “safety net” in the neighborhood with an increased police presence, she said, by mobilizing its community agent RÉSO and liaising with the family and the CAVAC (Assistance Center for Victims of Acts). criminals).
