While he was in Paris, our Prime Minister François Legault became a man without compassion in the eyes of a large part of the Quebec population. You know, 80,000 people are above all people who live in the hope of being welcomed and not of being rejected.
We know that the Government of Canada is responsible for this misfortune, because it is the one responsible for accepting new arrivals. The solution does not lie in rejecting our sisters and brothers who are already here. I believe we could open our hearts and work so that they do not all live on the island of indifference. On the other hand, the Government of Canada could, for the next year, impose a moratorium on welcoming new arrivals, to give us time to integrate this year’s arrivals.
You are probably aware that our villages are on the verge of disappearing due to a glaring lack of inhabitants. In my opinion, each municipality could create a committee to take charge of a proportional number of these 80,000 inhabitants. They are human beings who ask nothing better than to work for our community and our survival. As Gilles Vigneault sings: “I shout before I shut up to all the men of the earth, my house is your house. »
