The 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics was assigned, Tuesday October 8, to the American John Hopfield and the British-Canadian Geoffrey Hinton for their trendorsements on artificial intelligence and machine learning. They succeed the Franco-Swedish Anne L’Huillier, co-laureate of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics, with another Frenchman, Pierre Agostini, and the Austro-Hungarian Ferenc Krausz, for their research on the movement of electrons inside atoms and molecules.

The 2024 Nobel season continues on Wednesday with chemistry, before the highly anticipated literature prizes on Thursday and the peace prizes on Friday. The economy price will close the vintage on Monday October 14.
