Two people died in a plane crash Monday, October 7 in the morning, in La Bretonnière-La Claye (Vendée), France Bleu Loire Océan learned from the La Roche-sur-Yon public prosecutor’s office.

The machine crashed around 8:30 a.m. on the wall of a house in the village and was completely destroyed in the impact. The scene of the accident is contained by the police and firefighters. Firefighters conducted searches all morning to try to find injured people or victims. There are 30 of them who were deployed to the scene. The La Roche-sur-Yon public prosecutor’s office announces that two people have died.

“There was a big black smoke rising behind the housing estate”describes Marcel, a neighbor, who discovered the crash. Then there was “a big boom, five to ten minutes after the crash. The plane exploded”he describes to France Bleu Loire Océan. “A wheel of the plane must have landed in the wall of the house opposite, the plane completely disintegrated”he continues. Julien, another local resident, adds: “With the debris, we couldn’t see that it was a plane.”

A mine clearance team also went to the crash site. A drone and civil aviation were also mobilized. Around 12:30 p.m., the firefighters announced that their intervention was over, noted France Bleu Loire Océan.

A medical-psychological unit has been set up for residents who wish it. The firefighters also specify that the area is closed until Tuesday evening.
