The Baltimore Ravens (3-2) signed their third victory in a row, not without difficulty, against the tenacious Cincinnati Bengals. They overcame a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter and won 41-38 in overtime. Justin Tucker kicked the game-tying 54-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter and gave the Ravens the victory on another profitable kick in the overtime period. Joe Burrow was sensational despite the defeat. The quarterback completed 30 of 39 pass attempts for 392 yards, an impressive total of five touchdown passes and one interception. Ja’Marr Chase’s performance was consistent with that of his accomplice with 193 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a 70-yarder. Things are getting tougher for the Bengals, who are now 1-4. For the Ravens, Lamar Jackson threw four paid passes, including two in the direction of Isaiah Likely, in addition to accumulating 348 passing yards. Derrick Henry also crossed the 10,000 career rushing yard mark and recorded his 100the touch.

Happy Birthday, Trevor

Trevor Lawrence

The Jacksonville Jaguars were the only team winless after four weeks of NFL activity. But Trevor Lawrence celebrated his 25e anniversary by signing his first victory of the season, a 37-34 victory against Joe Flacco and the Indianapolis Colts. The former Clemson University quarterback chose his day well to offer his best performance of the calendar: 371 yards through the air and two touchdown passes. Doug Pederson’s men had given themselves a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter, but the Colts came from behind with less than three minutes to play. But Cam Little’s 49-yard kick, with 17 seconds left, closed the debate. Even though he lost, Flacco continued to impress with 359 passing yards and three payoffs. He has five in two games. The 39-year-old veteran is like a good wine to age, it ages well.

Kyler Murray (1)

The Arizona Cardinals defeated the San Francisco 49ers 24-23 on Sunday. Kyler Murray kicked off hostilities with a 50-yard touchdown on his offensive unit’s second play. He finished the game with 83 yards on 7 carries. As for the aerial component, he completed 19 of his 30 pass attempts for 195 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Jonathan Gannon’s team overcame a 13-point deficit in the second half. She took advantage of three turnovers to score 14 unanswered points, ending her two-game losing streak. As for the Niners, their second half was disastrous. Each of their four offensive sequences ended with a turnover: two interceptions, a fumble and a turnover on tries. Too bad for them, since Brandon Aiyuk had his best production of the season with 147 yards. That’s 20 yards shy of his total output after four weeks. The absence of Christian McCaffrey continues to hurt Kyle Shanahan’s squad, which has lost three of its last four outings.

As in zero losses for the Minnesota Vikings (5-0), the only undefeated team in the National Conference. They won their duel against the New York Jets 23-17 at Tottenham Stadium in London. The Vikings became the first NFL team to win its first four games outside the United States. Andrew van Ginkel scored a touchdown on a 63-yard interception return in the first quarter. The linebacker now has two touchdowns on interception returns and three quarterback sacks. He is the first player in NFL history to have such a performance in the first five games of a season. Sam Darnold didn’t throw a touchdown pass for the first time this season and had an interception. On the Jets side, Aaron Rodgers targeted two paying targets, but he was the victim of three thefts. The 40-year-old also suffered a sprained ankle, but was able to finish the game.
