The former Minister of Europe and Member of the European Parliament, Nathalie Loiseau, delivered, Monday October 7 on franceinfo, her position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, on the day of commemorations of October 7, 2023.

On the occasion of the commemoration of the massacre of October 7, 2023 perpetrated by Hamas in Israel, franceinfo receives the former Minister of Europe and MEP Renew (Horizons), Nathalie Loiseau. The chosen one reminds that there remains “two French hostages” detained in the hands of the Palestinian armed group “for a year” : Ohad Yahalomi and Ofer Kalderon. “We remember the Bataclan, we remember Charlie Hebdo… This is what Israel experienced to the power of 1,000”continues Nathalie Loiseau.

And to return to Emmanuel Macron’s declaration to no longer deliver weapons to Israel, Saturday October 5, before changing his mind. “Obviously, this was poorly received in Israel, by Benjamin Netanyahu, who is not necessarily my compass, because he is a populist leader of a far-right government”believes the MEP. “I am in favor of a cease-fire, because the Israeli response was astonishingly brutal […] There are too many deaths.”points out Nathalie Loiseau, who is however opposed to “an arms embargo” supplied to Israel, which is “attacked on seven fronts”she recalls.

“From the moment we tell her what she has the right to defend herself against, we are not in support of Israel”supports the former minister.
