The NHL in Prague | Devils beat Sabers again

(Prague) Paul Cotter scored his second goal in two games and the New Jersey Devils beat the Buffalo Sabers 3-1 on Saturday, completing a perfect trip to Prague to start their season.


New Jersey defeated the Sabers 4-1 the day before, again at Arena 02 in the Czech capital.

Cotter broke a 1-1 tie at 7:18 in the third period.

Jack Hughes got rid of Mattias Samuelsson and joined Cotter in stride, in the slot. Cotter then beat Devon Levi with a nice feint.

Timo Meier added an insurance goal at 14:14, after Jesper Bratt came close to scoring around the net.

Hughes was also complicit in this game.

Seamus Casey of the Devils scored his first National League goal in the first period.

He hit the mark with a solid wrist shot during a power play, after creating space to his left.

New Jersey selected him in the second round in 2022.

Jake Allen blocked 17 shots for the Devils. They will play their first game in Newark on Thursday, against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

For the Sabres, Tage Thompson scored in the first period and Levi blocked 34 shots.

Buffalo will return to North America with a performance of 0 for 6 on the power play.

The 1ser and November 2, the Florida Panthers will face the Dallas Stars in Tampere, Finland.

It’s number 11e year when NHL clubs compete in Europe, particularly in hockey-loving countries such as the Czech Republic, Finland and Sweden.
