Transport: the Société de transport de Montréal announced Thursday evening the immediate closure of Fabre, Iberville and St-Michel stations

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) announced Thursday evening the immediate closure of Fabre, Iberville and Saint-Michel stations, on the metro blue line, as a security measure for an indefinite period.

According to the STM, work at Saint-Michel station revealed “significant damage to certain main beams above the footbridge”.

“Given the location of the track devices necessary for reversing trains, the Fabre and Iberville stations must also be closed,” the STM indicated in a press release.

The transport company indicates that further inspections will have to be carried out to determine the work necessary to repair the problem. This should take “several days, even weeks,” explains the STM.

More details will follow.
