Increased sanction against Professor Didier Raoult. The microbiologist is banned from practicing medicine for two years from February 1, 2025, according to the decision taken on appeal by the national disciplinary chamber, revealed by The Parisian and confirmed to franceinfo by the National Order of Physicians. The appeal hearing took place in June 2024.

At the end of December 2021, the National Council of the Order of Physicians appealed the reprimand inflicted on December 3 on Didier Raoult for having promoted hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for Covid-19. The reprimand is the second most important sanction after the simple warning and before the ban on practicing, which was finally decided on appeal.

The Order of Physicians of Bouches-du-Rhône, then the Cnom, accused him of having violated several articles of the code of medical ethics by promoting and prescribing a treatment based on hydroxychloroquine against Covid-19, despite its absence of proven effect.
