Eight Israeli army soldiers were killed on Wednesday October 2 in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army announced that the deaths took place during violent clashes with Hezbollah fighters. Can these soldier deaths change the course of the war? Elements of response with the guest of France Info, the former general of the air force Patrick Dutartre.

“Today, eight soldiers killed is enormous for an operation which is extremely well prepared”comments Patrick Dutartre, former general of the air force. He also recalls “that three weeks of incessant attacks with technical and military results are spectacular on the military level, on the part of the IDF thanks to the aviation. There were then no losses on the Israeli side. There, soldiers been killed because Hezbollah soldiers are hidden in houses and tunnels and are extremely dangerous”.

“It is unfortunately very possible and it is dramatic like what happened yesterday where we see what real terrorism is. Despite the fact that Hezbollah is today extremely weakened from a command point of view – all Hezbollah leaders have been targeted”replies Patrick Dutartre, referring to the attack which struck Tel Aviv (Israel) on October 1st.
