Dominican Republic to expel 10,000 undocumented Haitians per week

(Santo Domingo) The Dominican Republic announced Wednesday an “immediate execution” plan to expel 10,000 undocumented Haitians per week to fight illegal immigration from the neighboring country with which it shares the island of ‘Hispaniola, in the Caribbean.


“This operation aims to reduce the excess migrant population perceived in Dominican communities and will be carried out within the framework of strict protocols guaranteeing respect for human rights,” indicated the president’s spokesperson Luis Abinader after the a meeting of the Security Council.
