Brest on the Champions League podium, you can’t make it up. Thanks to its second success in two matches, Stade Brestois is in second place in the general classification of the Champions League phase with six points, Wednesday October 2. Powerless in London, PSG has not yet fallen from the top of its three points and is in 18th place, but could well see itself left behind after today’s matches.
With nine matches on the program for this second evening, Monaco has the opportunity to join a leading trio made up of Brest, but also Borussia Dortmund (1st) and Bayer Leverkusen (3rd). Facing Real Madrid, Lille (28th) will want to open their counter and leave the direct elimination zone (beyond 24th place).
As a reminder, with the new format of the Champions League, the eight best teams at the end of the league phase will be directly qualified for the round of 16, while those finishing between 9th and 24th place will have to go through a play-off (round trip).
