Departure from political life in 2026 | “I don’t want to be a part-time mother”

(Quebec) Marwah Rizqy will leave political life at the end of her mandate, in 2026, to be closer to her two children. “I can no longer put everything together,” said the member for Saint-Laurent.

“I don’t want to be a part-time mother and, every Monday, that’s the feeling that I have,” the Liberal MP expressed with emotion during a press briefing in Quebec.

“I would have liked to combine everything, but I can’t. When we are elected, we have responsibilities to represent everyone well. [et cela implique de] not putting your children to bed every night,” added the 39-year-old elected official.
