The Russian army claims to continue to gain ground in eastern Ukraine, particularly around the key city of Pokrovsk. In a press release published Tuesday, October 1, it announced that it had seized Kruty Iar, a locality located about ten kilometers southeast of the city, an important logistical hub for Ukrainian troops.

The Russian Defense Ministry also claimed Tuesday the conquest of the town of Vyshnévé, in the Kharkiv region (north-east), but without specifying its location while several villages bear this name in this region.

In the Donetsk region, Moscow’s troops are also getting dangerously close to the city of Toretsk. On Monday, they claimed to have conquered a small town located less than five kilometers south of Toretsk.

The kyiv army, in difficulty in the east facing the Kremlin forces, more numerous and better equipped, launched an attack on August 6 in the Russian region of Kursk, seizing several hundred square kilometers. She hoped to force Moscow to redeploy its troops in the Donetsk region and thus slow down their advances, but Russian soldiers continue to advance.
