(Montreal) A fatal accident occurred on Route 236 in Saint-Stanislas-de-Kostka, in the Montérégie region, on Monday.
The victim is a 36-year-old man from Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.
The driver of the vehicle died of his injuries in the hospital where he had been taken after leaving the road on a curve.
Earlier in the day, a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, Marythé Bolduc, indicated that he had suffered “serious, life-threatening injuries”.
Firefighters dispatched to the scene had to use extrication pliers to extricate the victim from his car.
An investigation is underway to try to determine the exact causes and circumstances of this exit from the road.
