The Montreal Canadiens resumed training Monday morning at the CN Sports Complex without forwards Patrik Laine and Josh Anderson as well as defenseman David Reinbacher, and news regarding Laine and Reinbacher will have to wait a little longer.
Laine and Reinbacher fell in combat during the first period of the preparatory game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday evening at the Bell Centre.
The Canadian has still not offered an update regarding their state of health. A team spokesperson told reporters on site that the team would not have any information to release until after the day’s practice and media availability.
It’s possible the update will come later on Monday, but all indications are that we’ll likely have to wait until Tuesday morning to find out how long both players will be on the sidelines.
As for Anderson, the team said he was enjoying a day of treatment. He finished the game against the Maple Leafs. The latter won the match 2-1.
Reinbacher was injured due to a bad fall after taking a hit.
For his part, Laine received a knee from Cédric Paré and remained lying on the ice, visibly in pain.
The Canadian will play the fifth of his six preparatory games on Tuesday, when the Ottawa Senators are the visitors at the Bell Centre.
