Israel announced on Saturday September 28 the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, eliminated in a massive strike the day before on the southern suburbs of Beirut. The risk of regional conflagration is very real.
Saturday, September 28, late in the afternoon, a new strike hit Hezbollah headquarters as the sun set in the southern suburbs of Beirut (Lebanon). A few minutes earlier, in Tel Aviv (Israel), sirens sounded at the airport. A missile has just been fired from Yemen, intercepted by Israeli missile defense.
These attacks come as the death of Hassan Nasrallah has just been confirmed, after a powerful bombardment the day before in southern Beirut, where the command center of the Shiite militia is located. Benjamin Netanyahu remains firm: “We have reached a historic turning point in the fight against our enemies”he said. The death of Hassan Nasrallah caused a thunderclap in Lebanon and Iran, where five days of national mourning were decreed by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In Beirut, thousands of residents have fled the southern suburbs to the city center.
