Kiabi: a former treasurer steals 100 million euros

Former treasurer at the ready-to-wear brand Kiabi, Aurélie B. is said to have embezzled 100 million euros. After impersonating an executive in order to embezzle money, the 39-year-old Frenchwoman was indicted for fraud and organized gang money laundering.

An influential businesswoman, to whom everything seemed to succeed, is suspected of a monumental fraud. On her social networks, Aurélie B. displayed her proximity to rap stars and her fortune from Miami (Florida, United States), where she resided. This 39-year-old French woman ran her company with diversified activities: business aviation, events, design and even media.

According to information from franceinfo, Aurélie B. was indicted for fraud and money laundering by an organized gang, suspected of having stolen 100 million euros from the Kiabi brand, one of the leaders in low-cost textiles, of which she was still treasurer in 2022. She is said to have usurped the identity of ‘a framework for diverting money into personal accounts and cashing it out. In a press release published Friday September 27, Kiabi assures that “this fraud in no way calls into question the financial solidity of Kiabi.” The scam was discovered in July and the investigation entrusted to the judicial police.
