In the Cévennes, parents who became conspiracy theorists remained cloistered at home with their three children. Believing that society represents a danger, the family lived in isolation.

In a tourist village in the Cévennes, a house has been the talk of the town since 2020. Its shutters are still closed, a fence has been erected and the car abandoned. However, a family with three children lives inside. She is cut off from the outside world, because she has fallen into conspiracy theories. On social networks, parents publish hundreds of photos and videos to denounce supposed plots fomented by Bill Gates and financial elites.

They praise conspiracy figures and believe that all of society represents a danger. After the 2020 lockdown, the stay-at-home mother and unemployed father wrote to the authorities that they did not want their children to return to school. After conspiratorial remarks and while the family was cloistered, a judicial investigation was opened. The parents were given a one-year suspended prison sentence and the children were placed in foster care.
