“If you hit us, we will hit you”threatened Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday September 27 towards Iran, from the podium of the UN General Assembly. “There is no place in Iran that the long arm of Israel cannot reach”he insisted in New York.

The Prime Minister also announced that operations against Lebanese Hezbollah would continue, dashing hopes of a temporary 21-day truce proposed earlier this week by France and the United States. “As long as Hezbollah chooses the path of war, Israel has no other choice, and Israel has the right to end this threat and return its citizens home in safety.”he said, adding that operations would continue “until all our goals are achieved”.

“Hamas must go”also launched Benjamin Netanyahucalling the Palestinian Islamist group “to lay down your arms” in the Gaza Strip to end the war. “If they (Hamas fighters) don’t do it, if they don’t, we will fight until we achieve victory, total victory. There is no alternative”he warned.

The Israeli leader once again attacked the UN, as diplomats boycotted his speech by leaving the UN room upon his arrival. “I tell you, until Israel, until the Jewish state, is treated like other nations, until the anti-Semitic swamp is drained, the UN will be considered by the righteous people as nothing more than a contemptuous joke”, he said.
