Commission on Foreign Interference | CSIS officials expected

(Ottawa) Current and former officials of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) are scheduled to appear Friday before the federal commission of inquiry into foreign interference.

Among the witnesses are Vanessa Lloyd, acting director of CSIS, as well as David Vigneault, who resigned from his position earlier this year.

Leaks of information from CSIS on allegations of foreign interference prompted the Liberal government to establish the commission of inquiry.

The inquiry’s latest hearings focus on the ability of federal agencies to identify and counter foreign interference.

The commission examines the practices of various institutions as well as the experiences of diaspora communities.

A final report is expected to be published by the end of the year.
