They too have gone back to school: lice. We talk about it in franceinfo junior, a news program for children every day on franceinfo.

Sixth grade students from the Larzac College in La Cavalerie in Aveyron ask their questions about lice to Vincent Albouy, entomologist, naturalist writer and lecturer. He is the author of several books including a new one to be published on October 11: Fascinating Animals: 300 Extraordinary Facts to Discoverpublished by 365.

“What do lice look like?” Louise asks to begin. “What are lice looking for in our hair?” Loïc continues.

“How do lice get on our heads?” Phoebe asks, before continuing: “Why do lice itch?”

In turn, Aaron wonders how “can we remove them”.

Loïc wants to know if the lice have “a language” and communicate with each other to give each other directions.

Finally, to finish, Lylia wants to know “What are lice for?”.

On this page, listen again to this Franceinfo Junior program on lice in its entirety.
