“Anyone who puts a target on the backs of the police will find me in their path.” LThe new Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, stated on Tuesday, September 24 on Cnews and Europe 1, that he was going to file a complaint against the LFI deputy for the 1st constituency of Vaucluse, Raphaël Arnault, for his defamatory remarks in a message published on Saturday on the social network X. “Assassination of Kanaks by police forces sent specially 17,000 km away”wrote the rebellious elected official, in reference to the events taking place in New Caledonia.
“During the day, I will contact the public prosecutor, which means that I will file a complaint.”announced Bruno Retailleau. According to him, Raphaël Arnault is implying that the police premeditated a murder. “I won’t let anything go. And what’s more, he’s a member of parliament. You can’t wear a blue-white-red scarf to behave like that. This kind of behaviour is violence that is unacceptable.”he continued. “The police, the gendarmes are the shield of the Republic. They protect the French and they protect the weakest French people”assured the minister, who claims that justice will be brought as soon as words denigrate the police.
