(Haileybury) Canadian musician Jacob Hoggard pleaded not guilty to sexual assault in a northeastern Ontario court on Monday.
The former Hedley singer, dressed in a dark suit, stood up to plead not guilty at the start of his trial in Haileybury.
Jury selection has begun. Once the process is complete, closing arguments and the presentation of evidence can begin.
Jacob Hoggard is charged with sexual assault for an incident that allegedly occurred on June 25, 2016 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario.
He elected late last year to be tried by jury in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
