Lando Norris continues to close the gap. A month after his success at Zandvoort, the McLaren driver went for his third victory of the season after a race dominated from start to finish in the night and heat of Singapore, Sunday September 22. Accustomed to losing pole positions in the first few metres of the race, the British talent this time held his own to complete the first lap in the lead, a first for him. Unstoppable, he continued to widen the gap throughout a surprisingly quiet race, without a safety car for the first time in 15 editions. All this, despite a scare and a short drop in performance after bending his wing on the 29th lap, then another contact with the wall on the 48th lap.

With this victory, Lando Norris takes seven points back from Max Verstappen, second on the day and now on a run of eight races without a win. The Dutchman from the Red Bull team maintains a 52-point lead over his rival in the championship with six GPs remaining in the season. The other McLaren of Oscar Piastri completes the podium. With this result, McLaren further consolidates its dominance at the top of the constructors’ standings and will leave Asia with a 41-point lead over Red Bull (516 against 475), the best team of the last two seasons. At Alpine, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly finished in 13th and 17th places.
