Since 2021, in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), an association has been trying to introduce residents of working-class neighborhoods to sobriety and ecological practices.
In a neighborhood of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) classified as a priority and committed to the ecological transition, daily life has changed for a single mother. On the menu that evening, oatmeal and chickpeas mixed to make a vegetarian pancake. A choice that has many advantages for both of them. A recipe learned during workshops organized by the Fairéco association. The principle: to mobilize families on various themes around ecology, such as compost, with group waste transfers.
70 families benefit from this support which lasts six months. Among them, Salima and her husband, parents of two children, with only one minimum wage. They have changed their purchasing habits. At the end of the experience, the families are interviewed. On average, each adopts between five and seven eco-friendly actions on a daily basis.
