Cries of anger. Gisèle Pelicot, the main victim of the Mazan rape trial, raised her voice for the first time on Wednesday, September 18, before the Vaucluse criminal court. She was offended by the questions asked by the defense lawyers and the president of the court. “I feel like the culprit is me, and behind me, the 50 [co-accusés] are victims”Dominique Pelicot’s ex-wife was indignant. “All this because I walked through my bathroom naked, they call me an exhibitionist!”

“Since I arrived in this room, I feel humiliated, I am called an alcoholic”because supposedly, “I am in such a state of intoxication that I do not realize that I am being raped. It takes a degree of patience to endure everything that I have heard.”said Gisèle Pelicot. To which the president of the court replied: “I understand that my questions may be disturbing, but if I don’t ask them, you don’t have the opportunity to express yourself.”

“In the state I was in, I absolutely could not answer anyone. I was in a coma and the videos that we are going to broadcast will be able to attest to that. And the experts were shocked by these videos, and they are men.”she explained, believing that “It’s so humiliating and degrading to hear this”. “For me, they are degenerates! Not for a moment did they ask themselves the question. I’m not used to getting angry, but now, frankly, that’s enough!”Gisele Pelicot said about the accused.
