By bike or car, all means of transport are good for making gourmet discoveries next weekend.
On Sunday, September 22, in Estrie, in Val-Saint-François, the organizers of the Carottes et Garnotte ride invite you to explore the region on two wheels. A loop of approximately 60 km, from Ulverton to Melbourne, will take gourmet cyclists on panoramic country roads to the Vallée du Moulin, Quebec’s leading fig producer. The start and finish will be at the Les Vallons de Wadleigh vineyard.
Another region, another meeting. In the MRC of Portneuf, the 9e edition of the Route des Arts et Saveurs offers stops at more than fifty artisans and producers spread across fifteen municipalities. Different routes have been designed for motorists and cyclists. Tastings and guided tours await the curious on September 21 and 22, from Saint-Raymond to Saint-Casimir, passing through Neuville, Saint-Marc-des-Carrières, Portneuf and Deschambault-Grondines.
This last municipality will also host another gourmet event a few days before: Savoring Art. On Thursday, September 19, seven gastronomic creators from the region will gather at the Moulin de La Chevrotière for a tasting of bites. Their source of inspiration? The exhibition See the territorypresented on the heritage site.
The start of the Carottes et Garnotte agrovélo hike takes place on Sunday, September 22, at 8:30 a.m. Participants have until September 17 to reserve their place at a cost of $55.
