At the heart of the cases involving criminals is a recurring phenomenon: luxury cars registered in Eastern countries, particularly Poland.

Driving powerful cars, drivers film themselves at over 200 km/h, slaloming between cars. The drivers are often young and inexperienced. BMW, Audi, Mercedes: most of the vehicles are rented and all are registered abroad, particularly in Poland. On social networks, hundreds of ads are published by small companies, whose specialty is to rent cars in Poland to sublet them in France, which is technically legal.

In the Paris region, a rental company claims that these cheaper rentals allow you to avoid paying taxes imposed by France. The rental conditions are also much more flexible than in a traditional agency. Polish plates also allow you to avoid speed cameras. Implicated in recent news items, these cars are increasingly widespread and pose serious security problems for the police. For three years, the police have been increasing the number of checks on cars with Polish plates and sometimes manage to seize them for lack of insurance.
