Cultural return under the sign of hospitality in art galleries and artist centers

A gallery that welcomes another, projects driven by attention to nature, to objects, to our fellow human beings, a less local Toronto biennial… The season will take place under the sign of hospitality.

End of cycle

Autumn will be the last of Caroline Andrieux at the Darling Foundry, a place she recycled into an art center more than twenty years ago. For this end of a cycle, which calls for the beginning of another, she signs the exhibition Deliquescence and brings together ten artists around entropy — the Lorna Bauer and Sébastien Cliche from here, the Gordon Matta-Clark from elsewhere (and from the past). From September 26 to December 8.

The photographer Hubert Hayaudwho collaborated on the Dutyfollowed car wrecks from the United States to Central America, a journey destined for the rebirth of cars. Run & Drive is presented at the Maison de la culture Janine-Sutto from September 19 to November 3.

Ruins and decay have attracted Natascha Niederstrass towards Poveglia, an abandoned island near Venice, from where she took the images of Ruin lust. At the Patrick Mikhail gallery from September 28 to November 9.

At the UQO Gallery in Gatineau, Milutin Gubash ends a cycle that began in 2015 at the same location. Exploring the creative process and its contradictions, the exhibition Art world obsolescence. Habitats

Inescapable in current events, the question of housing and more broadly of habitat manifests itself in a thousand ways in art.
