All the lights are green for PSG before its entry into the Champions League. The reigning French champions won, Saturday, September 14, against Brest on the fourth day of Ligue 1 (3-1). The two clubs neutralized each other for 70 minutes, then the capital club accelerated with two goals in two minutes from Fabian Ruiz and Ousmane Dembélé, who scored twice.
Despite a clear Parisian domination, it was the Bretons who opened the score on a penalty from Romain del Castillo after a gross foul from Nuno Mendes (29th). The Parisians continued to build and push, and the light came from Marco Asensio, who perfectly served Ousmane Dembélé’s header (42nd).
Without being dangerous, the Bretons remained solid defensively. But in the 72nd minute, Fabian Ruiz, served back by Achraf Hakimi, opened his foot to put PSG back in front. A minute later, Ousmane Dembélé offered himself a double to extinguish any Breton rebellion. The Parisians regain the lead in the championship, and a big dose of confidence before the first test of the season in the Champions League against Girona, Wednesday. For Brest (12th), who have only won one match out of four, the discovery of the C1, Thursday against Sturm Graz, promises to be difficult.
