The electoral lie is a classic figure. And the only thing that can console lies during electoral campaigns in democratic nations is that we hear even more lies in dictatorships.

But Thierry le Luron, who in 1979 targeted President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing by parodying a song by Julien Clerc, would not have imagined the extent and aplomb of Donald Trump’s lies during the campaign.
