“Things are clear, Michel Barnier is not an ally, he is a political adversary”assured the National Rally MP for the North and party spokesperson on franceinfo on Friday, September 13. “We have been fighting him for a long time (…) but we are giving him a chance to show that he is capable of changing his software and tackling the major issues on which we expect him to: purchasing power, immigration, security”explained the RN elected official.
“If he doesn’t do it, we will obviously be at the censorship meeting.”he said. As the budget battle begins in the National Assembly, the RN sets a red line: “If there are tax increases, we will go as far as censorship, we are not ruling anything out”stressed Sébastien Chenu. “We have already demonstrated that we are capable of voting for texts presented by others, against texts or of abstaining, and it is in this that we are putting the Prime Minister under surveillance, even under a certain form of pressure”continued Sébastien Chenu.
