Almost ten years ago, three members of a British family and a cyclist were murdered near Lake Annecy (Alps). A biker heard at the time as a witness is questioned again, in order to clarify his schedule.
In 2012, the massacre in Chevaline (Haute-Savoie) left four dead and left only two survivors: two little girls, one of whom had been hiding for several hours under her mother’s body. The case stalled until the morning of Wednesday January 12, during which a man was placed in jail, in the Chambéry research section.
This man is not unknown to the investigation, and had already been questioned as a simple witness, shortly after the terrible assassination. Forest guards had seen the biker on the day of the killing near the scene. After a wide distribution of his robot portrait, the man was questioned in 2015, then released. Jean-Christophe Basson-Larbi, the suspect’s lawyer, claims the innocence of his client. “My client is someone who has always cared about the manifestation of the truth. Someone who took a lot of his time to try to make his contribution to the work of the investigators, and who today is living a real nightmare“, he declares.
